Distinguished Colleague,

We are happy and excited to announce the 1^st National Clinical Microbiology Congress organized by “Clinical Microbiology Specialty Society”

In this congress, we will particularly focus on the highlighting issues related to both the management and routine laboratory practices and on the training in the Medical (Clinical) Microbiology Specialty. We will also discuss the developments related to microbiology. Another major topic of the congress will be the antimicrobial resistance problem and its potential consequences experienced both by the clinical microbiology specialists and the clinicians.

Undoubtedly, our cooperation with the Turkish Microbiology Society, being started last year, will continue in this congress with increasing strength and enthusiasm. This synergy will carry the science of microbiology in our country to a worthy level by sharing the knowledge and experience between medical (clinical) microbiologists and practitioners in different fields of microbiology such as veterinary medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutics, and foodstuff. We sincerely believe that enhancement of communication between the practitioners of various microbiological disciplines will strengthen our position in the world of medicine in terms of not only routine practices, but also basic researches. Furthermore, the implications of this synergy will significantly contribute to the treatment successes of infectious diseases specialists, intensively focusing their efforts to overcome the infections caused by resistant microorganisms.

Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our gratitude to our colleagues from all disciplines of microbiology and also infectious diseases. We are hoping to meet at the congress.
